Alderton Sunday 23 February 2025

We started the longer Sunday walks today.
Leaving The Gardeners Arms car park, set off on a 6 mile plus walk. Through the fields and up to Alderton Hill, certainly warming us up on a chilly but dry morning. Turning east round the hill then down towards Naunton Farm here picking up the Winchcombe Way. Setting out sites north for Dumbleton. Breaking for lunch in Dumbleton we found a very comfortable shelter. Before returning west back round Dumbleton Hill still on the Winchcombe Way.
Bill finally lead the six of us back to Alderton, for a drink in The Gardeners Arms.

Meriden 8th January 2025

Started the new year with 10 bright and eager members on freezing cold Wednesday morning. Bill led the walk from the Bulls head car park in Meriden, crossing the B4104 and on towards Four Oaks. Minor change to route as part of the section was flooded. On the return we pick up Alan's section of the HOEW leading to the Church at Church Farm, Meriden. Then following the road back in to Meriden.
Finished with a very enjoyable lunch at the Strawberry Bank.

Ansley, Nuneaton - 4th December 2024

11 of us met at The Lord Nelson Inn car park for a 4.27 mile circular walk led by Bill which partly took us across a golf course in low mist and therefore held our breath hoping we wouldn't get hit by a golf ball (yes there were still golf players despite the fact that you couldn't see anything).
Plenty of mud to negotiate along the way but a hugely enjoyable walk.
As always, when finished, we ate at The Lord Nelson Inn which I think every one of us would highly recommend for fabulous meals and excellent service.

A 4 mile circular walk from The Manor House, Fillongley.Usual mixed UK weather from bright sunshine to rain and back again.
Stopped for a short coffee break to the delight of a few curious cows.
Walked through some amazing corn fields en route.

Wednesday 4th September 2024

10 of us met at the Green Man, Middleton for a 4.1 mile circular walk led by Bill. A slight diversion near the start due to deep mud which Bill kindly tested out for us to his detriment. A few awkward stiles at the beginning showing this path isn't walked regularly. However, a very enjoyable morning walk with some lovely surrounding countryside.

Lapworth 07/08/2024

Ten of us met at The Navigation in Lapworth for a 4.3 mile circular walk. A pleasant walk organised and led by Bill which took, in part, some of the Heart of England Way in Baddesley Ensor. Weather was kind to us except for one short sharp shower. Once relieved of walking boots at the end, all ten of us went for a quality lunch at The Boot, Lapworth. An enjoyable morning walk with nice friendly company

Claverdon 10/07/2024

This field was the prettiest I have ever seen, and judging by the reaction of others on the walk I was not alone in that view.
